Potty training is a never ending cycle of repetition that can create the doldrums. When you are trying to establish a new habit there is always the point where you feel like giving up, surrendering, and then it occurs to you that a lot of time, effort and discipline has been put into place. Do you really want to give up or does it just feel good to toy with idea because you are frustrated?

Make potty training fun by playing the water color change game. If you have a white toilet, put blue or red food coloring in the toilet bowl, and show your child how she’s changed the water from blue to green or from red to orange. If she is still using the potty seat, try a little colored water in that instead of the toilet bowl.
Remember to make the process fun while being patient is probably the hardest part of potty training. Embracing all of your toddlers steps and enjoying the good, bad and the ugly is the good stuff that makes up a childhood. Don’t let potty training get you down. Look for new tips and ways to keep the process going without throwing in the towel.
